Me and My Child in Pain
Sue Beals

5x7 - 64 Pages

My name is Sue Beals. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and a Registered Nurse. During the latter part of my nursing career I worked as a Pediatric Complex Care shift nurse.
The children I cared for inspired me to write this booklet. They and their families have enriched my life. I will share with you some of what they taught me.

"Parents of sick children have told me that experiencing their child's pain is worse than feeling their own pain."

This book is a user-friendly resource to enable both adults and children, in the home, to assess, understand, and manage the child's pain, whether chronic or acute.

This book is also a teaching aid to prepare adults and children to inform health-care professionals and others vitally involved with children living in pain how to speak a common language of suffering.

"Being able to manage your child's pain will lead to a happier life where she can laugh, play, and enjoy her family."
