Subtitle: Beyond Residential School

Cyber Moccasins: Beyond Residential School will promote awareness to readers that are not aware of the bleak eras of residential school. It will encourage other survivors to heal from abuses and lead a productive lifestyle despite the changes one may encounter. As a disabled aboriginal woman I hope to portray as a positive role model for other survivors to move beyond the residential school era—with a lot of hard work and determination. Cyber Moccasins: promotes awareness and healing!

Mary Fortier, a Cree woman, is survived by her husband, one son and two grandchildren. She was an Addictions Counselor and is an author of two books.
Behind Closed Doors: A Survivor’s Story of the Boarding School Syndrome is based on her family’s history with St. Ann’s Indian Residential School at Fort Albany, Ontario. In Cyber Moccasins: Beyond Residential School she discloses the lasting effects of abuses and how it changed her life as she became a quadriplegic.
Mary was a motivational speaker on residential schools. As a speaker and an author, she presented her personal experiences blended with tragedy and triumph!
