About the Editor
Patsy Lou Wilson McArthur, a retired secondary school teacher, is an avid genealogist and researcher of the Lake Huron and Saugeen fur trade. She was born at the mouth of the Saugeen River, Southampton, Ontario, as were generations before. Her great grandparents, North West Company voyageurs Joseph Lange and Augustin Gonneville, migrated with their families to the Saugeen territory, after the 1821 merger of the Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company.
Pat is a past contributor to the Bruce County Historical Society Yearbook and author of a local and family history John's Children: "McArthurs of Lindsay Township and the Bruce Peninsula" (1998). In 1999 and 2000 she was acting Registrar of the Metis Nation of Ontario, and is Secretary-Treasurer of the Saguingue Metis Council (2005).
