The author, Derek McLennan, relates his experiences over a year including: signs and symptoms of distress, his decline into depression and hospitalization, an understanding of how the depressed mind functions and practical tips when facing negative emotions, stress and depression. He also relates how God provided, while changing, healing and liberating him to have a more abundant life through Christ.

Derek McLennan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Upon completion of his high school education, he moved to London, England where he entered and completed his trainging to become a Registered Nurse. In 1981 he emigrated to the province of Alberta, Canada. Derek’s career in nursing has included administration and education as well as experience in most areas of clinical nursing.
In 1990 Derek became a Christian and in 1993 he met Samantha. They were married in 1995. From the fall of 1997 to October 1995 they lived in the Rio Grande Valley on the border of Mexico and Texas. In 2005 they returned to Canada and now live in Ontario.
