About The Author

Abe Funk is a great grandson of Johann and Elisabeth Funk. He was born and raised just half a mile west of the village of Hamburg, where Johann died and is buried

After completing his elementary education at the Hopefield School, Abe left the area to continue his education and enter the ministry. For the past forty-eight years ha and Ann have served in a variety of ministries in the United States and Canada. They have two children and three grandchildren. They make their home in Edmonton Alberta where they have lived for the past thirty-five years. Following his retirement in 2006, Abe plans to devote his time to writing and teaching.

Some of Abe's passions include family and history. These two interests combined naturally in researching and writing "Johann." He spent more than fifteen years gathering the material for this story.
